My navigation assessments are based on best industry practice combined with my own extensive experience as a deck officer plus 18 years in command of passenger and freight vessels. My navigation assessments are suitable for all types of commercial vessels as well as private or charter yachts.
- This is an assessment, not an audit and it certainly isn't just a checklist exercise. The purpose is to work with the Master and bridge team to evaluate how bridge operations perform, with due regard to the company safety management system, best industry practice and bridge team management training.
- My assessment will normally consists of 3 parts. A preliminary familiarisation with the company or vessels safety management system. A shipboard visit to conduct the assessment. Finally a detailed report is produced
- Each assessment will be tailor made to your requirements depending on type of vessel, trading area and operational requirements. It must allow enough time to effectively evaluate all aspects of bridge management and navigation of the vessel.
- The assessment is designed so as not to disrupt the every day operations of the vessel.
- On completion of the assessment a full report will be made available for the ship & shore management teams.
